5 Tips to Eating Less in Our Journey towards Better Health

I am obese, no denying it. my Body Mass Index (BMI), one month ago, was 28.71. Now it is 26.64, and my goal is to bring it down to 23, for which I have to reduce about 11 kilograms of my total weight. All that weight I had added to my body by eating more, more, and more.

Well, the equation is simple: if I spend more energy than I eat, then my weight will come down. As long as I’m not doing it, excess energy will be stored as fat and bringing down my weight is not possible.

EAT LESS is the secret. Wait. You cannot totally stop eating, or eat so very less that your body does not get enough energy to do regular things. Keep in mind, just to be awake throughout the day, you need a certain amount of energy. So, we have to be mindful of what we eat, rather what we do not eat.

Then, here comes the question …

How do I eat less? And have my stomach full?  And still feel not hungry for a long time?

I honestly do not know what the exact answer would be to the question, but here is what worked for me …

  1. I drank one glass of water before every meal – breakfast, lunch, and dinner
  2. I relished every single bite by chewing it to a pulp – most times, my jaw would ache by the time I finished the smallest portion
  3. I never allowed my family members to serve me – they usually give me large portions. So, I served myself and I never looked at the dish after one single serving.
  4. I drank more water if I felt like eating more.
  5. I would immediately leave the dining table after I finished eating.

MORE IMPORTANTLY, I preferred semisolid foods like, porridge, thick soups, fresh vegies and fruits, less spice and protein-rich dishes. In future blog articles, I will post recipes that would make you go hunger-free for a long time. …

Eating less is very important in our journey towards better health. It is actually not eating less, but eating the right amount of food.
