Oh My Gosh! My recent dieting plan would have gotten derailed yesterday, but my good friend saved it with a single word! Yeah, as you know, presently, I am on a journey towards better health which includes a regular exercise routine, and very conscious eating of less carbs and more fruits, vegies, and proteins.
Of course, you should ask me, how many such dieting projects have I had in the past. And, my answer would be “I lost count some three years ago.”
Yeah! Most of my dieting episodes do not survive beyond the first week. But mind you, the present dieting has successfully completed five weeks! I will tell you how it was possible in one of the following posts. But now, let’s look at why this dieting project almost failed yesterday.
Reason: Eating out with Friends
I told you right? About how my current dieting plan would have gotten busted yesterday? Yes, it is because I went out to eat with my friends.
I ordered a cup of soup and decided to end my eating there. But you know how friends are, right?
One mocked me saying, “How long? You Apple Man? How Loooooong?”
The other tempted me by saying that the Biriyani tastes better than usual. Oh, my me! You should know that I am crazy crazy crazily crazy over that dish (no that demon) called Biriyani.
The third one, as he was noisily chomping on his Dosa began his own theory in which he prophesised dieting is harmful to health and one should eat what he likes … blah, blah, blah!
Oh! Oh! Attack from all sides, and I was about to give up my dieting when my saviour came to my rescue like a Knight on a galloping horse, my good friend, ‘Bubble Boy’! (I will introduce him to you later, and he might also talk to you in the coming days)
“No, Apple, No! … don’t give up” he did not say these words; he just said, “One tomato soup and nothing more please …” well, that did magic to my spirit. Yes, in a blink, I came out of the enchantment of eating mouthfuls of Biriyani … my determination came back, and I came out of the dinner without any disaster.
This is the reason why it is always better to connect with others who are on a journey towards better health. This is why I am trying to connect with you folks. This is why I have already connected with Bubble Boy, who incidentally happens to be my friend.
You should also know this …. as all the tempting and teasing failed in their mission to jeopardise our (Bubble Boy’s and my) plan, the others began (slowly) to appreciate our decision to go on a diet. In fact, they began to come up with reasons why they are unable to diet, and how they should also join us!!!
Vow! That was a great feeling … first I overcame the temptations, then I am recognised for my efforts … and others wish to join us … Great!
Well, here is my special thanks to Bubble Boy! Thanks, Machi, you saved my day. No, you saved my dieting and my pride.
That’s it for now, folks,
Happy Journey towards better health —
